On October 3, 2014, Constellium signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Muscle Shoals, Alabama facility formerly known as Wise Metals.
This acquisition was transformative in many ways for Constellium, as it reinforced our leadership in the packaging market, and gave us a more balanced international footprint. It also significantly increased our recycling capacity with the ability to recycle, at the time, of the equivalent of 20bn cans a year. The acquisition was completed in January 2015.
In April 2014, we also announced the building of two new cast houses, dedicated to AIRWARE® production.
These two additional cast houses allowed Constellium to significantly increased its production of advanced solutions based on our AIRWARE® technology, which was selected to be part of major new aerospace programs including Airbus’ A350 XWB, Bombardier’s CSeries and other air and spacecraft.
